My Work


  1. What goal does this piece of work connect to? This piece of work connects to the strategy of converting between
mixed numbers and improper fractions.


  1. How well have you achieved this goal? I have achieved this goal very well by knowing the proper formulas and
methods for converting a mixed number to an improper fraction and vice versa. E.G: 3 and 3/4 to an improper fraction.
3*4=12 12+3=15. So we put 15 over the original denominator, 4. That give us the result of 15/4. E.G: 25/3 to a mixed
number. Divide 25 and 3 and you get 8 r 1. We put 1 over the original denominator, 3, and we get 8 and 1/3.


  1. What value have you shown with this piece of work? Why? I have shown create by creating formulas using algebraic
terms. Mixed number to improper fraction x and y/z in an improper fraction = (xz+y)/z.

Traditional Gathering and Harvesting of Kai WALT: Investigate traditional gathering and harvesting of kai Kupu for Kai apple: āporo banana: panana arani: orange pea: pear huakiwi: kiwifruit Gathering and Harvesting Traditional Maori people gathered most of their food from the forest, streams, seas and gardens. They were hunters, fishers and farmers. The Maori diet mainly consisted of birds, fish, supplemented by herbs and roots. They grew crops like potato and kumara. Maori cooked food in the ground, known as a hangi. Some Maori used hot water and steam to boil their kai. They place the food on hot stones and then cover the kai with a cloth. This happens in many celebrations over New Zealand to this day.
